If a successful Christmas can be judged by its intensity, this was the best ever. Here are some pix:
The CE made sure everyone could find our house!
And our tree was ready to be admired, topped with the same old shabby cardboard star we’ve had since the ’70s. Works for us.
Daniel was the first to arrive home. The chickens were happy to see him!
Victoria volunteered to drive Daniel up from LA when she heard that the famous spaghetti was on hand.
She reciprocated by baking the CE one of her famous apple pies. Yum! Thanks, @queen_v We love you!!
Gail was next to arrive – we are so glad she always comes to SB for Christmas!
Daniel and Auntie Gail
We enjoyed “Elves Night Out” dinner at the club.
Angie, Bobby and family arrived next
Tiny (left) came, too, and met his almost-match in our neighborhood.
Thomas and James were ready for Christmas!
Phyllis and Gail hosted a dinner and Santa collection viewing.
And yes, of course, Chloe was invited.
Taylor was next to arrive.
And he gave Chloe his signature greeting.
He was happy to see Cody, too. (No, we won’t smile)
Daniel broke out his holiday shirt for Christmas Eve. (No, I’m not smiling for you, either.)
We had Mexican for Christmas Eve and then went to church.
And then, it was Christmas morning! (Finally, a smile!)
James and Thomas were happy to start shredding!
Even Soho got a present!
Daniel and Chloe have a Christmas moment.
Grandpa got some opera glasses for when we’re in the cheap seats at the Met.
But I think he liked the poker chips the boys gave him better.
Sometimes stocking gifts are the most fun.
Christmas Day visitors and a nice walk!
And finally the big secret is out! Congrats to Alexandra, Andy and the grandparents-to-be!
Angie, Granny, Gail and The Tart celebrate Christmas.
And then, there was turkey!
“Turkey, you say? Whew. Because that looks a lot like…”
Daniel’s friend, Peter, joined us for Christmas dinner and got a proper introduction to Luna, who was grateful not to be on the Christmas dinner menu.
Dave stopped by to say Merry Christmas and Aloha on his way to Kauai.
After Christmas, it was time to go to the beach.
Bobby and the CE took the boys fishing.
Daniel, Angie, Taylor and Peter amused themselves with “Spot It” and “Flick the Chicken”. Don’t ask.
And then the cousins rolled in from Newport Beach!
Viv and Grandpa
They came bearing some very special gifts!
And they picked up a few of their own – some nice duds for a trip to Hawaii this summer.
We also gave them their very own Chloe.
Caleigh was tired out after five Christmases…
Kind of hard to say goodbye to Christmas.
But then it was time to ring in the New Year. Onward we go to 2015!
