Today is the day!
The CE has spent months taming every blade of grass into submission for the big moment this afternoon when Alexandra and Andy walk down the aisle – in our garden! What a special day!
Friends and family of the bride and groom have flown in from as far as Florida, New York, Paris, France and Seoul, South Korea. Teams of volunteers have attended to every detail. Everyone is so excited for these two dear young people to begin their lives together.
Soho and Chloe have been freshly bathed and will hopefully stay out of the compost pile until after the ceremony. Taylor and Daniel and Chris flew in very late last night and enjoyed a post-midnight spaghetti dinner. We are so happy to have them home for the big occasion! And hopefully the fog will lift in time for this afternoon’s ceremony. Think sunny thoughts for us, please!
The pre-wedding festivities began with a picnic on Thursday evening. As it turns out, the bride’s mother and the groom’s mother share the same July birthday, so we all gathered to celebrate.
Yesterday morning lots of folks pitched in to set up for the big day:
Then there was the rehearsal:
And the dinner:
And now, the final countdown begins!
