Palais de Poulet

Thanks to Polloplayer correspondent Katherine for this one: Neiman Marcus, ever on trend, is offering a bespoke chicken coop that puts our humble roost to shame. Only one downside – a palais like this one will cost your henny a pretty penny. Be prepared to cluck up $100,000 to ensconce your poulets in the Heritage Hen Farm’s handmade home, christened Beau Coop by the clever folks at NM.

Don’t let my girls see this! (image from Neiman Marcus)

The inside features a “library” of chicken and gardening-themed tomes and, of course, a chandelier.

Anyone who has ever cleaned a chicken coop will quickly see the folly in this. Maybe at $100,000 they also throw in a few poop-less chickens?

My brother-in-law, Mark, has always referred to NM as “Needless Mark-Ups”. I say they’re crazy like a fox in the henhouse.

It says a lot about your amazing chicken coop (co-op) that it took NM to one-up you.

I may have (I’m hoping) misunderstood – but are you implying that poop would/could get on the chandelier? Don’t answer that – I don’t want to know.

I will refrain from telling Luna about this, or she’d stage a Coop D’egg-tat.

CE here: This completely explains why just the other day Hope, and she was Hopeful at the time, insisted on showing me blueprints for an addition to our coop that included a tiled horizon pool. Provision was also made for a spa that included soaking tubs for scaly clawed feet, beak polishing stations, feather renovation facilities and mealy worm gift baskets. Hope made such a good case that construction will begin November 1st.

Where are the monogrammed towels? NM are suck cheap skates.

  4. Katherine says:

Ah CE. Your construction consult with Hope reminds me of Nietzsche’s comment “in reality, Hope is the worst of all evils, because it prolongs man’s torments.” (Capitalization mine.) I suspect you will not actually cave to Hope’s demands. Or Pippa’s squawks that she deserves a castle as much as her sister Princess Kate. (Or maybe I’m wrong?!? Are there more chicks in your future?)
