Brew + Rain = Fun!

It seemed like a good idea at the time. Since we knew we’d be grounded on the West coast for a few months with the CE’s leg in a cast, planning a party made sense, right?
We just failed to factor in just how grounded we would be – both of us less-than-abled – and we most definitely did not expect the month of October to debut as monsoon season in So Cal. But somehow, it all worked out, thanks to a ton of help (thank you Victoria, Alexandra, Pamela, Yoni, John, Marie Christine, Paz and everyone else!), a gifted caterer (thank you, Tammy!) and an intrepid group of friends whose spirits were decidedly undampened by the drizzle. Might have been our best party ever!

Our bartender, George, happens to be Greek, but he definitely got his German on for the evening!

Lots of flowers brightened up the gloomy day

The last-minute tent decision was a good call. Whew! Victoria made the lovely luminarias:-)

Winsome wenches: Alexandra, Alex, Ashley and Victoria

I loved that some of the guys brought their own steins. Kirk, Rick and Garen

PG and her long lost Paz

Alexandra and Dave

The CE and friends

Most authentic couple: Grant and Julia (with a small Tart!)

Laguna moms unite!

Bonnie and the Tart

Dylan and Birdie

Tammy: Fraulein for a night and caterer extraordinaire!

Chloe was a bit under the weather with an ear infection, but she's feeling much better now!

Ich bin ein Beer-envious person! What a fabulous event – SO sad to miss it.

It really was a great time and I am not able to figure out how the Chicken Lady put on this fun event all by herself. My main contribution was to show up and eat bratwurst; however, this I did well in my opinion.

It was a fun time for all and the weather, although inclement really only added to the feeling of being in Deutschland in late October. The beer flowed, the cabbage was red, the brats were beyond delicious and everyone seemed to enjoy the moment. This might even happen again and maybe next time I can help a bit.
