A Notch in the Beltway

Lots going on here but first, a WDC trip wrap-up: we multi-tasked the move and managed to sneak in a few forays as tourists. Helps a lot to be continually lost (no wonder our government is in chaos – no one can find their way to work!) – one detour led us into Virginia where we stopped for lunch in Old Town Alexandria. Since it took half an hour to find a parking place, we worked up quite an appetite and stepped into the first place we saw, which happened to be historic Gadsby’s Tavern.

this was a hot spot back in the 1700's

If it's good enough for George, it's good enough for us.

The next day we stole a few hours to check out the cherry blossoms and a few memorials.

Perfect day for touring

Thanks to Craigslist, Taylor’s apartment looks just the way he wants it, decorated in Early 21st Century Bachelor Pad:

Just out of view is the 50" flat screen tv - the man's home is truly his castle!

His first week at work has gone really well and he seems to be happily settling in. We miss him tons, but the house is hardly empty – watch this space for an update, hopefully yet today.

It was hard to say goodbye, but we're so happy for him!

It looks gorgeous in DC! Meanwhile, I’m not entirely sure I’d advertise that George Washington went to my restaurant… didn’t he end up with wooden teeth?

Love the blossoms! Makes me want to go there!
