Hens In High Places

Karma’s keepers were in Boulder, CO for a recent weekend and noted an exhibit on urban chicken coops, which turns out to be sponsored by a partnership between University of Colorado and a Boulder organization called Urban Hens (www.urbanhens.com). Always good to know what’s up at CU since half our family are graduates. Some current students have apparently eschewed the pleasures of Pearl Street for the opportunity to build community coops.

Proof positive that chickens bring people together is the partnership between a Boulder assisted-living center and a pre-school, where an apparent inter-generational chickenkeeping project brings oldsters and youngsters together. Neat idea!
