Came home a bit late tonight as Bernadette, the CE and I had dinner over at the Boathouse tonight. It may only be three miles from home but feels like you’ve gone on vacation. What a great setting!
Came over to the coop to check on the chickens, who were all doing quite well, thank you. There was yet another sign of season change, however – owls calling to one another from the trees. I don’t know where they disappear to in the summer, but during the fall and winter we generally have one or a pair of owls on our property. What kind? I have no idea and after a half hour of research really no more clue than before. I would love to think they are Great Horned Owls, but that’s just a guess. Maybe a Barn Owl?
If anyone knows about our local owl population, clue me in!
