Idyllic.

If these moments came around more often, we would likely not appreciate them as much, but I could easily spend a month of Mondays like the one we had yesterday here in Amagansett.

As serendipity would have it, the house we’re renting is right next door to son-in-law Bobby’s brother’s place (read it over a few times and the relationships will track). We walked over via a path above the beach for a lovely evening of beachside civility.

We gathered at the point and watched the kids play on the shore and then went inside where Bobby unfurled heretofore unknown culinary skills with a little help from Angela and Citarella – caprese salad, shish kebobs, corn on the cob, fingerling potatoes sprinkled with fresh parmesan and healthy pours of pinot noir followed by apple strudel and vanilla gelato. Then we walked back up to the point where Bobby lit the chimenea and we watched the dark sky light up with heat lightening. It was a magical evening.
