Whoooooo knows?

Came home a bit late tonight as Bernadette, the CE and I had dinner over at the Boathouse tonight. It may only be three miles from home but feels like you’ve gone on vacation. What a great setting!

Came over to the coop to check on the chickens, who were all doing quite well, thank you. There was yet another sign of season change, however – owls calling to one another from the trees. I don’t know where they disappear to in the summer, but during the fall and winter we generally have one or a pair of owls on our property. What kind? I have no idea and after a half hour of research really no more clue than before. I would love to think they are Great Horned Owls, but that’s just a guess. Maybe a Barn Owl?

    do you know about Max the own? He “works” for Eyes In the Sky which is an educational program for the local audubon society. He’s the BEST. We’ve met him a few times. AND, he’s an amazing foster-dad. Check out this link:
